The History of the 13th Tribe
The 13th Tribe is sort of an off-shoot of the Indy Board Gamers. Hosted by Adam Daulton on on the second Saturday of the month, it gives players a bit more time at one setting to get that game out they really want to play. Also, Adam keeps a record of everyone's wins/losses throughout the year and at the end through a complex and completely invalid method of determining the results gives out the Gamer of the Year award. You'll be able to find those stats, session reports, and other things from this page.
In 2005, Adam and his roommate Ed started a gaming group in Oskaloosa, IA. Until 2007 when they both moved away, from Iowa. The Oskaloosa group continued for awhile, but the Indianapolis group that Adam started as part of the Indy Boardgamers has thrived shince 2007. We've had more than 175 people come to at least one meeting and consistently average 40-50 people that come at least once in a given year. Now with kids and all that brings, the group has become even more family friendly, allowing for game time, but also for children if there is someone to watch them. Allowing children has not only allowed parents to get that gaming in, but with the longer time we meet on Saturdays, it makes it easier for those further away from the city to get their gaming time in as well.
